The Viaesys–WIT Advisers partnership combines industry-leading technology with sustainable best practices to support responsible winter maintenance. Through WIT’s Sustainable Winter Management (SWiM®️) program and Viaesys’ real-time tracking and monitoring systems.
Organizations can manage snow and ice operations more efficiently, safely, and sustainably. This collaboration plays a key role in supporting Wegmans Food Markets’ initiative to maintain their parking lots with reduced salt use and lower environmental impact. Participating contractors use Viaesys technology as part of the SWiM program to measure performance, ensure compliance, and demonstrate continuous improvement throughout the winter season.
About This Section
This section is designed as a starting point for contractors participating in the SWiM®️ program. It provides guidance, resources, and contact information related to the Viaesys tracking and monitoring systems used within the program. Here, contractors can find helpful information about device setup, data access, troubleshooting, and ongoing support — ensuring that every team can confidently use Viaesys technology to meet SWiM requirements and deliver consistent, verified results throughout the winter season.
Accessing the Viaesys Portal
Each participating contractor has been assigned a Viaesys portal login to access their SWiM®️ tracking and reporting dashboard. These accounts have already been set up as part of the enrollment process. If you have not yet received your login credentials, please contact Rob Vopleus at rvopleus@witadvisers.com for assistance. Once logged in, contractors can view real-time site activity, verify service data, and generate reports aligned with the SWiM program requirements.
Setting Up the
Mini RWIS
The Mini RWIS (Remote Weather Information System) provides localized weather and pavement-temperature data to support the SWiM®️ program’s performance tracking and salt-reduction goals.
Follow the step-by-step instructions in the video below to complete your setup. As noted both on the product box and in the installation video, it is essential to test the Mini RWIS for at least 24 hours prior to installation to ensure proper operation and data communication.
Once your unit is powered and communicating, we highly recommend that you “claim” your Mini RWIS by clicking the “Claim a Device” icon on your Viaesys dashboard. This links the sensor to your account, allowing real-time data to appear in your portal and ensuring that WIT Advisers can verify performance within the SWiM program.

Setting Up the SnowAssist Dashcam
The SnowAssist Dashcam is a key component of the SWiM®️ program, providing visual verification of site conditions and documenting snow and ice management activity in real time.
Before beginning installation, please “claim” your dashcam on the Viaesys dashboard by selecting the “Claim a Device” icon. This links the camera to your account and ensures that recorded data will appear properly in your portal for WIT Advisers review.
We also highly recommend inserting the SIM card and powering the dashcam for at least 30 minutes before installation. To power the unit: connect the black wire to ground and both the red and yellow wires to a 12 V source (for example, any vehicle or spare battery). This allows the dashcam to come online and automatically download the specialized firmware that converts it from a standard dashcam into a winter site-condition monitoring system.
Once the dashcam has updated and shows active connectivity, proceed with physical installation following the guidance in the instructional videos below.

Setting Up the MTS Pro Spreader Controller
The MTS Pro is the primary Viaesys hardware component used within the SWiM®️ program to automatically record and report material application rates, vehicle activity, and service verification data. It ensures that salt usage and spreader performance are tracked accurately in accordance with SWiM sustainability standards.
Before beginning installation, please “claim” your MTS Pro by clicking the “Claim a Device” icon on your Viaesys dashboard. This step links the controller to your account so that all calibration and application data flow correctly into your portal.
We recommend powering the MTS Pro before full installation to allow it to come online and verify connectivity. To power the unit, connect the black wire to ground and the red wire to a 12 V source (such as a vehicle battery or external power supply). Leave the unit powered for several minutes to confirm that the indicator LEDs illuminate and communication is established.
Once powered and claimed, follow the instructional video below to complete the installation, connect the spreader harness, and perform the initial calibration. Proper calibration ensures that application rates recorded in the Viaesys portal match actual spreader output, which is essential for SWiM reporting accuracy.
